1. How soon can I expect to receive graduation announcements/accessories after I place my order?
a. Within 24 hours after an order is placed, it is reviewed with our customer, usually by phone.
After the review, the order is printed and received by our customers within 10 - 12 working days. Photo orders can take a few days longer for printing and shipping.
Express shipping is available, when needed.
(The above delivery schedules are based on normal working and delivery processes and conditions.)
b. After the review of a photo announcement order, a photo confirmation number is sent to the
customer along with the address of our photo lab to mail photos.
Photos can also be emailed in jpg format, directly from a digital camera file or from a lab produced photo, scanned at a high resolution. Scan at least at 400 DPI. Email to: printingoffice@grad-announcements.com
Photos scanned from a photo which has been printed on an ink jet or laser printer does not give us the quality needed for good reproduction.
2. Can the color on front of the announcements be changed?
Many of our announcements are foil embossed and cannot be changed. You can; however; select from
several standard ink colors for your wording/text and personalizing of your announcements.
Black announcements can only be flat printed in silver or gold. Most announcement verses can be printed in the color of your choice. There is a $6.60 ink charge for any color but black.
3. Where do we include special instructions?
At the end of the order form there will be a comments section to include special instructions.
4. Do I have to use one of your verses?
Verses are shown to assist you with wording. You can choose your own wording.
5. Does your company put the school/college crests on the announcements?
You will see graduation seals/crests on many of our announcements. These are universal graduation crests which can be used by all schools or students.
Customized crests can only be put on announcements for schools or student groups with quantities of 500 or more.
6. Does your company sell to individuals/students, as well as schools?
Yes, the minimum order for graduation announcements is 25.
7. What is your preferred method of receiving an order?
Receiving orders online is our preferred method. This gives us a better foundation for communication, review and the processing of your order.
8. What is the paper quality of your announcements?
Many of our announcements are embossed and/or foil stamped, except for color process or some budget announcements.
If you see the graduation verse on the front, it is heavier paper stock. Folded announcements have wording/text printed on inside. They are made of thinner paper because of the folding required. This is true also, because of school and student requirements for dye cuts for name card insertion. (Exception - Some budget announcements [folded] do not include die cuts for name cards)
Announcement wording/text is thermography printed in raised
lettering (except for black paper stock or four color process/cover stock which must be flat printed ).
9. Why is pricing of announcements so varied?
The expense of each printing process we use varies - See the following:
a. Foil Stamped Announcements have always been the industry standard and in high demand. Foil printed paper is a far more expensive product because it involves making metal dies, then foil stamping.
b. Thermography (Raised Lettering) involves the heating of powered polymers to achieve text and or graphics in raised lettering.
c.
Photographic Printing is used for some of our full color announcements. This process produces a final image on paper for viewing, using chemically sensitized paper. The paper is exposed to a photographic negative, a positive transparency (or slide), or a digital image file projected using an enlarger or digital exposure unit.
d. Process Color: Printing with digitized images. This process is more cost effective.
10. Are envelopes included with announcements?
Envelopes are included with announcements. There is an extra charge for printing of the return address.
11. What is an envelope liner?
Just a few of our announcements have optional lined envelopes. This means that there is an inner envelope
which can be lined with gold or silver.
12. How do you handle errors?
Orders are carefully reviewed by our well trained and experienced staff. Wording/text is also reviewed with our
Customers before we print. Errors are very rare; however, if an error were to occur, we expedite a reprint.
